Nadine Thompson is a strategic communications and marketing consultant with leadership experience in the arts and heritage sector.

I have substantial experience of devising and implementing successful communications and audience engagement strategies for a wide range of organisations across the cultural sector, enabling them to tell their stories and reach their audiences.

In senior leadership positions at Tate, English National Opera and the Art Fund, and as a consultant, my work has covered promotional and fundraising campaigns, capital building projects, partnership development, advocacy programmes, corporate communications, crisis management, and brand development.

With experience as a Director and Trustee, I bring to my work a knowledge of governance, compliance and risk management.

  • Through a strategic approach to communications, I help my clients to be more impactful about what they say, who they say it to and and when they say it.

    I often work with organisations on devising and implementing strategies which may include partnership development, owned-content development, media relations, PR and corporate communications opportunities, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement.

    As part of my work, I lead strategy workshops and write corporate communications and media materials.

  • I regularly direct strategic branding work to help organisations better understand and define their work and values and to assess how these can be reflected through their visual identity and communications. I have devised and led internal and external workshops and surveys to facilitate this process.

    I have significant experience of managing and delivering specific projects with designers and digital developers such as new websites, apps and publishing products.

  • I bring my communications, marketing and business experience together to create audience and partnership development strategies. These may cover programming advice, ticket pricing, marketing collaborations, membership retention and communication content plans.

    My work includes competitor benchmarking, audience data analysis, leading audience focus groups and advice on market research and evaluation projects.
